What Happens During the Assessment
The assessment will include an evaluation of your skills on our range in addition to on-road riding skills and adherence to road rules. Expect a comprehensive review of your abilities as a motorcyclist to ride safely and legally.
The Licence Assessment is the Final Stage of Your Motorcycle Licence Journey
It is a one-on-one assessment where you will undergo an on-range assessment followed by a road ride.
- During the road ride, you will receive directions, and an instructor will follow. No tuition will be given during this assessment.
- At the end of the ride, you will be debriefed, and if successful, you will be issued a Victorian motorcycle licence with an E Condition.
The E Condition and What it Means
The licence will be subject to an E condition, restricting the rider to a LAMS approved motorcycle, zero blood alcohol level, and no passengers for the first 3 years. The licence automatically becomes a full licence after the 3-year period.

Yes, you can use your own motorcycle for the assessment. Ensure that your L plates are displayed, that it meets the required safety and operational standards before the assessment date. It must be both registered and roadworthy.
Is there a specific dress code for the assessment?
While there is no formal dress code, it’s strongly recommended to wear appropriate motorcycle riding gear, including a DOTapproved helmet, hi-vis vest, gloves, a riding jacket, and suitable footwear.
What's the waiting period between booking the assessment and the actual assessment date?
